Mail Goggles: You may not be able to stop yourself from drunk dialing, but this little widget could stop you from drunk emailing.

Seriously.

Yeah, I know. Nothing to do with journalism. But. The thing speaks for itself. Which by the way, is what the title up there means. (For those of you who have been reading it on the mag class syllabus and never did figure it out.) Cheers. bk

i heard about this on the radio yesterday. apparently you can set it up so that if you sit down to send an email between the hours of, say 2am and 6am (since we all know that nothing good ever happens after 2am), a math test will pop up that you'll have to complete before the email will send. i think it's awesome. although i would probably fail the math test sober. :(

Mail Goggles sounds hilarious, I’ve never heard of anything like it before, but it seems interesting. Are we really to the point that we need to set up a test to stop ourselves from drunk emailing? If so, this program sounds perfect. It will be interesting to see if Google decides to keep the program around after testing it. It just might be useful.

I think that mail goggles is a good idea, and I think that it will help prevent people from sending messages they would later regret. It's pretty funny and clever, yet it works.

I also think it's ingenious. It can affect people even if they aren't drunk- just really angry. By the time you are finished with the math test, hopefully you will have had time to calm down or you will be so frustrated with the test you realize you dont want to email anyway! Great idea, creators!
